Todd Whalen
Did you know that there is a test that if you pass it you can sue the IRS? You have to fly to Washington D.C. to take the test, but if you pass it, you can sue the IRS for abuse of power in collection cases. But before you run out and buy that plane ticket, consider that the test has been around since 1942 and only about 300 people have passed it since its inception. On May 8, 2011, Todd became the 298th person to pass that test.
Todd is the Founder of Advanced Tax Solutions. He is a Certified Public Accountant which allows him to represent clients in Colorado before the IRS. He is also an Enrolled Agent, which is a license that allows him to practice before the IRS anywhere in the nation. In addition, Todd has received the highest credentials offered by the National Association of Enrolled Agents (NAEA Fellow) as well as of the American Society of Tax Problem Solvers (Certified Tax Resolution Specialist). He is an alumni of the international accounting firm KPMG Peat Marwick. Todd has a Masters of Taxation from the University of Denver. His personal hobbies include backpacking, fly-fishing and hunting. In 1998 Todd took a sabbatical and backpacked the full length of the 2,000 mile Appalachian Trail. A tidbit of knowledge about Todd that most don’t know is that at one time he was a controller in Yellowstone National Park but worked his way up to Fishing Guide. He closed his career in Yellowstone National Park captaining a boat and guiding on Lake Yellowstone in the Park.
